In this study, we have aimed the determination of susceptibility of sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and sea bream
(Sparus aurata) which they have been cultured in Turkey to viral haemorrhagic septicemia virus. For this purpose, an
infection trial has been conducted on a number of 360 sea bass and sea bream with using TB13/H15 and SW13/G
isolates. The dose of infection applied as 10-5 TCID50 ml-1 for infection via immersion and 10-5 TCID50/fish for
intraperitoneal infection. As a result of the infection trial, the average mortality rate for sea bream and sea bass has been
found as 13,3 % and 5 % in the intraperitoneal infections. At the end of the study, virus was not isolated from dead or alive
fish which infected by immersion. In conclusion, it has been founded that viral haemorrhagic septicemia virus
(Genotype 1e strains) has low pathogenicity on the sea bass and sea bream.
