Factors Affecting Consumer Preferences on Seafood Consumption: The Case of Ankara

This study has been conducted to examine the seafood consumption level and behaviors of the consumers in Ankara. In
the determination of sample size, proportional sampling method was used and the sample size was calculated as 167.
Datas were collected from randomly selected individuals with using face to face questionnaries. In the study, secondary
datas and previous studies relevant with the subject were also used. At the results of the study, possible effects of the
socio-economic characteristics of consumers on seafood consumption determined with using nonlinear canonical
correlation analysis. At the end of the analyses, it is possible to say that, consumers with lower education level sensitive
to price while consumers with higher income level sensitive to flavor.
